Amelia Bedelia
In school I read a book called Amelia Bedelia. This book is really funny because Amelia Bedelia does everything wrong. My favorite part of the book was when she cut holes in Mrs. Rogers dress! This book made me feel goofy and made me laugh. I think you'll want to read this book, because it is funny.

Frog and Toad at Best Friend Island
written by Elijah
typed by Mom and Elijah
One snowy, cold January morning, a dirty, scary looking ship sailed up to the island. On board there were 10 mean and rough pirates. They had come to take over Best Friend Island. If they did, Frog and Toad and all their friends would be slaves!
"Toad," said Frog, who was very afraid, "what are those pirates going to do?"
"I don't know," answered Toad nervously.
"I have an idea! Let's sneak up on the pirate's ship and steal their cannon. With the cannon we can frighten them away."
"How in the world can we steal a cannon? Aren't those things too heavy to carry?" worried Toad.
"Don't worry, "said Frog, "all pirate cannons have wheels on them."
Toad was excited about the plan. He said, "Let's do it!"
So, they sneaked up onto the ship after the pirates came onto the land to find the best friends. The pirates were looking for slaves. Frog and Toad found the cannon, they pushed it to the side of the ship and let it blast! The pirates were still near the ship and heard the loud boom. It frightened them so bad that they ran into the water and started swimming and swimming back to their island! Some of Frog and Toad's friends were afraid too and started to swim away.
"STOP!" cried Frog and Toad. "We're safe now. It was just us who fired the cannon!"
Then the best friends turned around and swam back. They said to Frog and Toad, "You saved our pretty island! 3 cheers for Frog and Toad! Woohoo! Woohoo! Woohoo!"

Gammy and Grandpo's House.
On Saturday I went to my Grammy and Grandpa's house. While I was there I played with my friends, Mac and Max. Grammy and Grandpa let me spend the night, and I went to their church in the morning. I want to do it again because I had fun.

Kensington Park
My family was at Kensington Metro Park on Friday. My Dad came late. We had to wait 3 hours for him to get there. We like to go to Kensington even though it was raining a little, because we love being outdoors.
This is me and my brother's by the stream. We were looking at brown and black mud and throwing sticks and leaves in the stream to watch them go through the tunnel under the path.
This is an animal print that we do not know what it is. Personally, I think it is an opossum footprint.
This is another print that we do not know what kind of animal it is from. I think it is a coyote print.
This is Mommy and Lanie. Lanie is on Mommy's back in a carrier. The carrier can also turn into a stroller.
I want to go to the park again. It was so fun that I want to camp there, but I think the police would kick us out. LOL

Tom & Jerry and The World of Goo
Short story written by Elijah Autry
Typed by Mom
Illustrated by Elijah Autry
Once upon a time, there were two boys named Tom and Jerry, playing "World of Goo" on the computer. On one of the levels they couldn't figure the game out because everything was made out of spikes.
Then, they heard...
ding-a-ling-a-ling.
One of their phones was ringing. Tom went to go answer his phone and looked to see who it was. To his surprise, it said "Robber" on the Caller ID. He didn't answer his phone, he just ran back to the computer to watch Jerry play "World of Goo". Jerry was still trying to figure out how to win the game.
Tom had an idea. He told Jerry to keep going down to the bottom where there were no spikes. When he got there, Tom was right - there were no spikes! Because of this, Jerry could build the goo tower and build it up past all of the spikes. If they built it high enough, it would reach the vacuum tube at the top and they would win the game!
They worked hard and did exactly what Tom suggested . . . and guess what? They won the game!

Chicken Mummy - Part 2
This is the second step to the mummification process for our Chicken Mummy. You have to scroll down to see the first step in the process.
We begin our second step by getting our Mummy out of the dark, cool basement.
We then had to take out all of the salt, because it was all wet from absorbing all of the moisture from the chicken. I thought that this was pretty yucky.
Daddy is being gross in this picture. Pretending to lick the chicken is really, really, really, really, really nasty.
We poured salt in the bag and then put the chicken inside the bag over the salt. And then we poured LOTS of salt inside the bag over the chicken. I remember we used 4 or 5 whole containers of salt.
We all got to help pour the salt in the bag!

Eli and Ethan-dog
This story is part of an assignment I had to write for school. I was given the picture below first and then had to write a story about it.
Snow was falling from the sky so thick it looked like a sheet of paper. 10 year old, Eli, from Michigan was bored. He couldn't play outside because it was too snowy and cold. He was sitting on the floor of his bedroom with his dog, Ethan, reading a book about knights. Eli was excited because he liked knights and he wished to be one.
I typed this story myself.
Mommy proofread. :)

My Chicken Mummy!
I think the mummification process is yucky, but I wanted to know more. My mom looked on the computer for a way to make our very own mummy. We needed a chicken from the grocery store, lots and lots of salt, ziploc bags and a lot of patience. It is going to take us 6 weeks before the mummy is done, and so far it's only been 2 weeks.
To make our mummy, first we took the insides out of the chicken and filled the inside with salt. Next, we filled the bag with a little salt too. Then we put the chicken in the bag and covered it all the way up with salt. We used 4 whole salt containers!
Our mummy is in our basement right now and I think it's drying out because of the salt. In a few days we will have to change the bag and put new salt in. I'm afraid it might be a little gross.
We'll see what our mummy looks like after 4 more weeks!

Jack and Annie's Adventure
A Short Story Written by Elijah Autry
Typed by Mom
Jack and Annie were in the woods because they wanted to see Morgan, but Morgan was not there!
In the tree house, they found a letter that said that Morgan was under a spell. To free her they had to find four special things:
1) salt water from the ocean
2) flowers from Japan
3) fuel from a diesel train
4) paper from home
Jack and Annie started home to get the paper. Before they got home, the ground started to shake.
Jack asked, "Annie, is it an earthquake?"
"I don't know!"
Suddenly, two ugly monsters jumped out of the ground and started running toward Jack and Annie's house. Jack and Annie ran after them. The monsters reached the house and ran up the stairs. Jack and Annie followed.
When the monsters reached Jack's room, they gobbled up all the paper. Next, they went to Annie's room and ate all her paper.
Jack quickly grabbed a chair from the desk in Annie's room. With Annie's help, Jack threw it at the monsters. The chair hit the monsters right in the middle. The monsters fell backwards, fell out the window and right back into the hole in the ground that they dug. A big, giant boulder fell into the hole on top.
"What are we going to do about the paper for Morgan?" Annie asked.
"I don't know," Jack answered. "Maybe we'll have to ask Mom and Dad to take us to the store now."
